The 260wh/kg NCM lithium battery technology

  On July 2^nd ,2018 the launch ceremony of Soundon intelligent plant Phase III and the news conference of 260Wh/Kg NCM pouch cell were successfully held in Soundon New Energy industry park .

  The latest mass production 260Wh/kg NCM pouch lithium battery produced is High nickel NCM system battery, It uses NCM622 cathode material, C anode material and ceramic coated separator. The energy density of the system after pack is above 171Wh/kg. By 2019, Soundon New Energy plans to launch a 300Wh/kg high-nickel NCM system battery using NCA/NCM811 cathode material, Si-C anode material, composite separator and functional electrolyte. By 2020, its will launch a 350Wh/kg high-nickel NCM system battery, using lithium manganese-based cathode materials, Si-C anode materials, composite separators and functional electrolytes.

   Soundon New Energy has a strong strategic focus on the battery technology strategy of “production first generation, research and development generation, and reserve generation”. In the new lithium battery technology route, Soundon New Energy is researching all solid-state lithium batteries and lithium-sulfur batteries. In 2020-2025, the new lithium battery energy density target is above 400Wh/kg, and the cycle life is more than 1000 times. After 2025, the new lithium battery energy density target is above 500Wh/kg, and the cycle life is more than 2000 times.

   With the third phase of lithium battery was operation, Soundon New Energy has an annual production capacity of 9GWh, which is expected to reach 15GWh or more by 2020. At the same time, it is the first take the lead to achieve 260 wh / kg NCM pouch battery mass production in the industry ,the energy density is 13% higher than other EV lithium batteries in market currently.
